Back from the wayside

Hey Everybody,

Sorry about forgetting about this blog, but needless to say that the painting a day experiment petered out. I did manage up to 5 days, but got too busy with other work, till summer ended. Anyways, finally gotten a break from school so figure I'd post some work from the year so far. I'm gunna try to get a bunch over work up over the entire week. least attempt to practice regular update...





Couple of boxed form drawings, and a modelled drawing using india ink(on cardboard backing)

oh, and finally started to learn how to animate





got a few more little test animation, but have to wait to later this month to put them up. Plus these are a bit poorly shot, so might repost them later.

Portfolio Prep

alright, so subway sketching on the weekend was a terrible idea... got a mountain of homework ahead of me...

been putting together my life drawing portfolio, so figured I'd digitize them as well... oh and as a note for fellow students, all but 1 of these drawings were accomplished during lab time...





These last 2 are modelled drawings, which I'm pretty sure I've explained before... I think I've been greatly improving on them...


there are alot more that I could put up... but I gotta get back to some painting/sketching/perspective/etc etc etc...

Busy...

Right... not much to this post... more gestures... and a couple of modeled exercises... a modeled drawing is basically a description of a 3d form on a 2d space using tonal values... its tougher then it sounds... and these ones aren't the most successful pieces...

and finally a longer head/shoulder study (20 minutes)... the proportions are way off on this one... but I was focusing on the underlying features and the shadowing tones
